ProbateStudio beta

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ProbateStudio handles information in the current Wisconsin hosted beta.

Back to app How it works Terms Disclaimer Beta feedback

Current beta storage

The current beta does not create hosted user accounts or store probate case files in a ProbateStudio cloud database. Case answers are primarily stored in your browser's local storage and in any backup or document files you download.

Information you may enter

  • Names, mailing addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses.
  • Decedent information, including dates, residence, domicile, and county information.
  • Family-tree, heir, beneficiary, trustee, personal representative, and interested-person information.
  • Estimated asset, debt, inventory, public-benefit, and estate-administration information.
  • Form answers, case notes, generated packet information, downloaded files, and beta feedback.

Information not needed

Do not enter Social Security numbers, full financial account numbers, passwords, medical records, tax IDs, or unnecessary private financial details unless a future production feature specifically asks for that information and explains why it is needed.

Local storage and backup files

The app uses browser storage so you can continue an intake if the page refreshes or you return later in the same browser. You can also download a backup file. Local browser data and downloaded files remain on your device or in locations you choose, such as your downloads folder, cloud drive, email, or backup system.

Support and feedback

If you email support or submit feedback, ProbateStudio may receive your name, email address, screenshots, downloaded files, case facts you choose to share, and your message. Feedback may be used to troubleshoot, improve the product, create test scenarios, and identify launch blockers.

Hosting and technical information

The site is hosted by third-party infrastructure providers. Those providers may process basic technical information, such as IP address, device/browser information, request logs, and security logs, to deliver and protect the website. ProbateStudio may later add privacy-respecting analytics, but the current beta should avoid collecting more data than needed.

How information is used

  • To assemble draft probate forms, checklists, and filing handoffs.
  • To save or resume a local beta matter in your browser.
  • To generate backup files and document downloads you request.
  • To provide technical support and respond to feedback.
  • To improve form logic, usability, instructions, and test scenarios.
  • To protect the website and investigate misuse, errors, or security issues.

Sharing

ProbateStudio does not sell probate case information. In the current static beta, ProbateStudio does not automatically send case information to attorneys, sponsors, advertisers, referral partners, courts, or financial institutions.

Information may be shared with service providers who help operate the website or support process, when you choose to send information to support, when you choose to send files to someone else, when required by law, or in connection with a business transaction involving ProbateStudio Technologies, LLC.

Attorney sharing

Future versions may allow user-directed sharing with an attorney or attorney office. That feature is disabled unless separately enabled. Information should not be sent to an attorney through ProbateStudio unless the user chooses that option and gives consent.

Security

Probate information can be sensitive. We aim to use reasonable safeguards appropriate for the beta stage, but no internet, browser, email, or download system is perfectly secure. Before broad production use with real probate data, hosted accounts should include access controls, encryption, audit logs, consent logs, retention rules, deletion procedures, and a security review.

Retention and deletion

Local browser data is controlled through your browser and device. You can clear browser storage, delete downloaded files, or save a backup file for later. Support emails and feedback may be retained as needed to respond, improve the product, document beta issues, and maintain business records.

To request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy help for information you sent to ProbateStudio, email support@probatestudio.com. Some requests may be limited by legal, security, fraud-prevention, or recordkeeping needs.

Children and minors

The service may ask about minors because probate forms sometimes require information about minor heirs or beneficiaries. The service is not intended for use by children under 13.

Future production features

If ProbateStudio later adds accounts, payments, secure document storage, attorney sharing, email document delivery, analytics, advertising, referrals, or multi-state modules, this Privacy Policy should be updated before those features collect or process real user data.
